CHICAGO TRANSACTION LAWYER

A transaction lawyer is one who applies economics to the field of law. By the addition of economics to law, several topics like transaction, rationality and law ethics is clearly defined. A lawyer is expected to have a 3-dimensional view of his case. Being a transaction lawyer diversifies his vision to seek the clear understanding of the case from all angles.

All types of cases, starting from disputes between states over a river water to the fight between a tenant and a landlord, economics plays a vital role in determining the solution of the case. An ordinary lawyer will see the case from his client’s benefit point of view; but a transaction lawyer seeks ethical interest of the individuals and the society.

Transaction law remains a controversy till date because it not only challenges the orthodox method of practicing law but also provides a new outlook to the case which may or may not lead to a different solution.

Let us consider an example: a tenant refuses to vacate a house due to lack of time. A lawyer might win the case for a landlord by proving that the tenant has no right over his client’s personal property. But a transaction lawyer will win the case for the tenant on account of economical background.

This example proves how the addition of economics to the field of law has turned the tables. Many of the corporate firms having a modern approach appreciate the importance of a transaction lawyer but these lawyers do not get rewarded at all times. Orthodox law does remain the foundation of law but it is the newly revised forms of law that create skyscrapers to form on it.
